Heathergate Country Park is in Lowgate, a beautiful village on the outskirts of Hexham. From the A69 follow the signs the town centre, keeping to the one way system past Tynedale Retail Park (on your left). At the roundabout continue on the one way system onto Haugh Lane and continue all the way up this road until you reach the T-junction (you will pass Hexham Horseless Carriages garage and the cricket ground as you go). Turn left and in 1/4 mile at the traffic lights (just past the police station on your right) turn right onto the B6305 which is signposted for Allendale. In about 1 mile you will come to the village of Lowgate and the lane for Heathergate is on your right hand side between the cottages. Enjoy wonderful views over the North Pennines and explore Hadrian's Wall country.
